    What Cancer Cannot Do:
    It cannot cripple love
    It cannot shatter hope
    It cannot corrode faith
    It cannot destroy peace
    It cannot kill friendships
    It cannot suppress memories
    It cannot silence courage
    It cannot invade the soul
    It cannot steal eternal life
    It cannot conquer the SPIRIT

    You are in our prayers. Jonanthan fought the fight. He will be remembered by many people, in whom he has touched.

    If God brings you to it. HE will bring you through it.
    Linda

    May the Lord give you His Peace!

    As a Secular Franciscan, I’d like to share these words from St. Francis of Assisi’s “Canticle of Brother Sun,” which I believe are appropriate to Jon’s passing:

    Praised be you, My Lord, through our Sister Bodily Death,
    from whom no living man can escape …
    Blessed are those whom death will find in Your most holy will,
    for the second death shall do them no harm.
    Praise and bless my Lord and give Him thanks
    sand serve Him with great humility.

    Jon, did not get the miricle we were all hoping for, but I believe Jon is the miricle. We were all amazed with the way he handled this illness. With poise , dignity, faith, and love. Jon did’nt think he would be able to date, and he found Brandy, and while his life was cut far to short, and he will be greatly missed. He will live on in everyone of us. He has touched us.

    We have grown in our faith and become better loving and caring people as a result of witnessing Jonathan’s journey and his courage, as he fought this battle. God sent an angel, Brandy, to care for Jonathan and I have personally never seen such devotion and caring in such a young couple. It was a blessing for all those close to watch Jon fall in love and be loved. We can rest assured that Jon is at peace tonight and we are left to celebrate his marvelous life and reflect on what he has accomplished. May God Bless all of the May family and bring you comfort and strength. Rod and Ann Schoen and family.

  43. John Says:

    Did you tackle that trouble that came your way
    With a resolute heart and cheerful?
    Or hide your face from the light of day
    With a craven soul and fearful?
    Oh, a trouble’s a ton, or a trouble’s an ounce,
    Or a trouble is what you make it.
    And it isn’t the fact that you’re hurt that counts,
    But only how did you take it?

    You are beaten to earth? Well, well, what’s that?
    Come up with a smiling face.
    It’s nothing against you to fall down flat,
    But to lie there — that’s disgrace.
    The harder you’re thrown, why the higher you bounce;
    Be proud of your blackened eye!
    It isn’t the fact that you’re licked that counts;
    It’s how did you fight and why?

    And though you be done to death, what then?
    If you battled the best you could;
    If you played your part in the world of men,
    Why, the Critic will call it good.
    Death comes with a crawl, or comes with a pounce,
    And whether he’s slow or spry,
    It isn’t the fact that you’re dead that counts,
    But only, how did you die?
