Unfortunately, I did not qualify for the trial I wanted. The location of my tumors turned out to be a big factor. The drug combination could prove to be too dangerous at this time. However, there is a phase I trial of interest in Detroit opening up. We are awaiting word on the next step. If it turns out that it will take some time before we can get in, we may go down to Tulsa yet. Other options should be arriving in the mail for us to review.

I’m doing okay. Florida was a great time and I got a little sunburn. I actually fooled around with my resume the other day. Hopefully it won’t be long until I can finish up school and look for a job. Most of my friends seem to have found good jobs. At the very least I just want to get my health back under control so I can get moving on my career. I’ll write more soon. Keep praying…

It is hard to believe it has been that long. It seems like forever. I just wish my leg would get better already. I know I’m lucky, but damn…6 months is a long time to go without full use of your leg/foot when you are expected to recover. We’re still waiting on word on the trial as well. Arg! I just want to walk and run normally and know if I qualify for treatment!!!

I had a few tests yesterday and have a CT scan Monday. I’m checking to see if I qualify to start a treatment that appears to be the best possible option at this time. However, the rules for qualification are pretty strict so keep your fingers crossed. I also went in for an x-ray and got looked at Thursday for a nagging cold that I just can’t shake. So I will have made trips to the hospital on Thursday, Friday, and Monday.

The clinical trial is in Washington again. If I end up qualifing I would imagine that I’ll head out late this month if not early August. This summer is really going quickly, and maybe that’s a good thing so football season will hurry up and get here.

My foot still isn’t fully healed yet, but getting close. The movement is slowly returning. I’ve actually tried to run a little bit lately, but still limp. I swear I’m going to throw a party when it gets better!

We’re still unsure what is going to happen next. There is a trial (not open yet though) in Detroit that I may try. I am also looking go to a specialized cancer center in Tulsa, OK for a consult. I will be returning to Washington at some point, just not sure on the details.

I try to stay busy as much as I can. I get outdoors some when it’s not really hot. I probably watch too much tv and need to read more. I also try to socialize as much as I can. Jared and I went to KC for the 4th and had a good time. If I’m not busy on the weekends I go to Hays to see some friends. Our dog is also good company when I’m at home by myself.
